The Team.

Michaela.

Michaela is our creative colour specialist and our in house educator.

Shes been hairdressing for over 15 years. Starting her career in this very salon she now calls home.

Michaela started her career as a weekend apprentice at Chequers Hair Design under the supervision of Zoe and Alison. Once she qualified she went to travel the world hairdressing on 5* cruise ships, quickly taking on the added role of Spa and Salon Manager and was the youngest Spa and Salon Manager at sea at the time.
When she decided after 4 years it was time for dry land she went to work for Sak’s Hair and Beauty in Manchester, as a Senior Stylist, in salon trainer and salon manager, during that time she completed her Colour Degree with Loreal. She then moved to Toni and Guy for a year, taking part in their art team program, before taking the step to work for herself and start her own business Michaela Corder Hair. In 2019 she took on the role as an educator for Alan Howard , the largest Hairdressing supplies distributor in the UK.

During this time Michaela has started a family and became a mum for the first time in 2017 when she welcomed her little boy Alf into the world, shortly followed by her little girl Winnie 15 months later.

After 7 years creating her own business and brand she has expanded and taken charge of Chequers and rebranded it into The Bamford Hair Company.

Zoe.

Zoë is our most experienced stylist. Although she has recently taken a step back from the responsibilities of owning a salon, she is still here for all your hairdressing needs.

She’s been hairdressing for over 30 years, and had owned Chequers Hair Design for 26 of those years.

Zoë bought Chequers hair design back on December 5th 1995, and then shortly after in August 1997 Alison came to work for her. 23 years later and they are still working side by side.

Alison.

Alison is a very experienced stylist who has been working around Bamford for almost 30 years.

She started her hairdressing career back in the 90’s attending college full time training in hair and beauty. From there she went to work for The Village Hair Group, where she worked for 5 years. That’s where she met Zoë and as they say, the rest is history.

Alison started working for Zoë in 1997 and has spent 23 wonderful years working there.

The change of Chequers becoming The Bamford Hair Company were the start of exciting things for Alison, as she took the big step of becoming her own boss and made the transition to become self employed within the salon. This has allowed Alison to add that more extra personal touch to her clients experience whilst in the comfort of a beautiful salon environment.

Alison loves welcoming her loyal clients into the salon space, and enjoys working alongside the newly expanded team.

Jodie.

Jodie is a beauty therapist specialising in eyelash extensions.  She has been a lash artist for 3 years, she started off mobile then moved to The Lash Farm in Norden.

She has built up an amazing list of clients and loves a great relationship with them all. Jodie absolutely loves her job to the point it never feels like work. She is level 4 trained and also qualified in Eyebrow Microblading, Manicure & pedicure, acrylic & gel nails, Indian head massage, full body massage & spray tans.

In her spare time she likes to spend time with her family, her partner Dez, but most of all her little boy Rome who is 5. She likes to go for days out quite often as she likes to be out and about and keeping busy.

One of her clients is a reiki practitioner, so for the past couple of years she has been having treatments from her. Through the treatments she has been getting into crystals and healing gradually, trying to focus on personal growth and a positive mindset.

She is really excited to start a new chapter at The Bamford Hair Company. Working in a team , being in a salon environment and meeting new people.
